Big Conversation at King Centre

18 Nov 2010

Below is a copy of an email invite to Great Yarmouths Communities Network. This network began some time ago and is meant to give grass roots people a voice in the decision making process in the Borough. A laudable initiative and 96k supports it. However for it to be successful it needs local people to attend it. A clear majority of council officers, organisation officers and councillors tends to be represented at the meetings rather than those who are meant to be consulted. This may be due to poor publicity on the networks part or it may be general apathy. However as can be seen from the email this meeting DIRECTLY affects people living, working or studying in the borough. It is imperative that you have your say.

Dear all
The next Communities Network meeting will be held at the Kings Centre, Great Yarmouth on Friday 3rd December 1000 – 1300, lunch will be provided.
At this meeting we will be hosting 'The Big Conversation' which is Norfolk County Council’s consultation on the proposed budget savings that it will have to make as a result of the Comprehensive Spending Review. We are expecting input from senior officers from the County Council and there will be opportunity for questions and answers on some of the key budget proposals the County is suggesting.
Attached please find an Invite to the Big Conversation and the NCC’s Proposals for Budget Savings.
Please confirm whether you are able to attend the meeting with Toni Tingle, admin@gyvsp.org.uk or on 01493 845925.
Best regards
