East Norfolk Family Carers (ENFC)

For Adults with Learning Difficulties

April 2010

Who Are We?

We are a group of family carers of adult people with learning difficulties. These are some of the reasons this group was set up :

  • As a Focal point for carer issues
  • To be part of the support network for
  • parents and carers
  • To be an  organised group to try and
  • influence local / county / national policy
  • To nominate representatives onto other groups e.g. local partnership boards, working groups on issues such as respite
  • To help plan new services
  • To give support to other parents and
  • carers
  • To work in partnership with others to make the best of mainstream resources
  • To invite guest speakers to talk about their organisations

As a group our aim is to support each other, which is very important
Being  someone who has taken time to pick up this leaflet, take the next step and come to a meeting, you may find it interesting

Our meetings attract up to 20 people including health professionals from East Norfolk and the County.
It’s not just the big issues: if you are concerned or interested in any aspect of Caring please come along.

Access  to Queen Anne's Road is from Harfreys Roundabout from  either north or south of area
The Group works closely with the Learning Difficulties Team, who are very supportive and attend Group meetings, allowing Group members to keep abreast of changes in services and be part of the consultative process.
It’s not all serious;
In 2009 we had  a Summer and  Christmas Lunch to relax in good company for a little while.
Further events are planned for 2010/2011
