96k has received an email from a gentleman who visited Hemsby recently with his family. Please see below for a copy of this. We find this quite worrying. If, as this gentleman says, facilities are not being adequately provided and tourists are not attracted to come back then in a town that tends to concentrate on the tourism sector how are we going to become the booming economic area that we would all like to see?
We at 96k would like to initiate a survey of the facilities provided, not just for tourists but for local people as well. Our team of Community Reporters will be involved but we would welcome input from you as well.
Message: : This is my 1st visit to Hemsby with my family and I was very disappointed in the lack of toilet availablity. This being a basic needs facillity and not ready assessable here in Hemsby was
not very good It was 0830 thursday 2/6/11 Hemsby at spar shop or seafront closed If you cannot
provide basic needs what chance have you got to keep tourist coming back year after year.
In short get the basics right and look at the detail.
