Films Gorleston Community Cinema from April to August 2011

Please find below a list of the films being shown at Gorleston Community Cinema from April to August 2011.
All films are shown in the Lecture Hall, upstairs at Gorleston Library which has a 4 metre by 3 metre screen and a sloping seated area for 110 people. Admission is just £3 and £2.50 for concessions (over 60's, unwaged etc)

Advance tickets are available for sale from Gorleston Library from 3 weeks before the film is due to be shown.

We have a particularly impressive list of films this time catering for all tastes and I hope you will able to attend some if not all of the showings, please feel free to pass onto other interested parties too.

Thurs 21st April “Red”
12 certificate. 7.30pm 
starring Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren & John Malkovich
“Still armed, Still dangerous, still got it!”
An ex- CIA agent reassembles his old team to counter a hit squad out to kill him. A rip- roaring action comedy.

Archive film showing at 2.30pm, with an exhibition by GOSH

15 certificate 7.30pm
An Oscar winning smash hit, starring Natalie Portman (who won best actress for this film!) A dark thriller about obsession, ambition and ultimately mental collapse in the ballet world, warning the film contains some strong sexual content and is not for the faint hearted.

Thurs 9th June “The Way Back”
12A certificate 7.15pm
Spectacular “landscape film” about 5 prisoners on the run from a Soviet Gulag camp and walking 4,000 miles to freedom across Central Asia and the Himalayas.

Thurs 14th July- “Brighton Rock”
15 certificate 7.30pm
Remake of Graham Greene’s classic thriller (ie. NOT the 1950’s Richard Attenborough film) now set in 1960’s Brighton starring Helen Mirren

Thurs 11th August- “True Grit”
15 certificate 7.30pm
Oscar nominated Coen brothers remake of the 1969 Western classic starring Academy awardJeff Bridges in the John Wayne role as Rooster Cogburn
