Happi Project

08 Nov 2010

My name is Lisa Davies I am a Volunteer Community Reporter for 96ktalkback, I went to the Happi Project at the Priory Centre in Great Yarmouth on the 26th October. As I walked in, there were Volunteers doing refreshments for free, I was introduced to a lovely lady called Kate who had arranged all the Projects. There were children and adults playing on a Wii having a great time, there was no age limits the ages began from 1 to 90 years old. There was face painting, Kate even had her face painted and the children loved having there face painted. People of all ages even trying the Healthy Rowing Machine to try and keep yourself healthy and advice on a healthy way of eating and simple ways to keep fit. Volunteers were doing raffles for Charity, there was flower arranging for all ages.  There was balloons being put into all different shapes like dogs and some where making there own shapes. Some of the older ladies and gentlemen where writing some of their memories on a shape of an elephant, having a great time going through happi Memories and sharing their stories.

People of all ages enjoyed the fishing in a little paddling pool with little plastic fishso many people enjouying themselves.  There were about 70 people at the event and around 1 o clock everyone there had a free lunch, Joleen (Happi Project) Co Ordinator and I joined in with the dip fantasy film, you get a piece of fine soft wire put it in the shape you want and then put the wire into the fantasy film, it looks like paint when you dip your wire in, then it comes out like a glass flower after it dries .

Thank You for having me and it was great to meet you.
