Do you want to develop your creative skills, meet like-minded people, network with publishers and writers?
Do you want to get involved in a one-off creative event for young people in your community, this summer?
We’re looking for young people to devise and deliver the MyVoice Roadshow – a reading and writing roadshow that’s part of a national programme, managed by The Reading Agency and supported by Arts Council England.
If you’re aged between 11 and 19 and want to be involved in the MyVoice Roadshow (23-30 July 2011) get in touch!
Planning meetings start in April. All planning meetings will be outside of school/college/office hours and your travel costs will be reimbursed.
You will:
Get experience as an events manager and promoter - a useful skill for a wide range of careers, from gig promoter to festival organiser, exhibition curator or wedding planner!
Meet writers, work with publishers and build your network of contacts in the creative sector
Make the MyVoice Roadshow the event that YOU want to see – with writers, artists, and musicians that you choose to get involved; created, curated, branded and marketed through your ideas, in collaboration with creative professionals
Learn how to use the latest digital tools and techniques for the online platform
Create a lasting, memorable event in your community for other young people
Get work experience that you can shout about in job interviews and use as a CV booster
Take part in an accredited awards scheme that can open doors to employers and apprenticeships
Build your confidence, communication skills, teamwork and leadership ability
Develop your own creative expression
