Norfolk charity project celebrates funding and partnership success

A recent Norfolk voluntary and community sector event showcased cross sector partnership support and told the attendees how organisations as members of the Norfolk Unites project had benefitted from over £200,000 of additional funding.

At the ‘Unite 4’ event held earlier this month, attendees were there to find out how Norfolk Unites, a project hosted by the Great Yarmouth charity Community Connections, was working to support Norfolk voluntary and community sector organisations to access various funding and partnership opportunities. Attendess found out how groups can get involved in delivering for the Norfolk NHS, Norfolk County Council 14-19 team and the Work Progamme.

Supported by the European Social Fund, Norfolk Unites recently welcomed its 100th member and over 1,000 people now use the Norfolk Unites website each month. Since January 2009, thanks to Norfolk Unites, members have also managed to secure a wide range of funding.

Norfolk Unites Co-ordinator, Toby Cullingham, said “We were really pleased with the turnout for Unite 4 and we certainly have lots of follow up actions that will keep us busy!”.  If you are interested in becoming a member of Norfolk Unites or you want to find out more about Unite 4 or the project, this can be found on their website at www.norfolkunites.org.uk.
