PCP Community Group Workshop


On Friday 28 January the group took part in a Community Group Workshop. The group wish to become more independent from statutory services and would like to be able to access funding available to continue their good work.
The group wish to set themselves up as a Constituted Community Group.
The Person Centred Planning team and Community Connections are supporting the group to achieve this aim.


David Hutchison (Community Connections) ran the introductory workshop with support from Eleanor (ENPCP Leader)


The workshop consisted of:

  • Discussion on the group’s activities aims and possible change of name of the group
  • An introduction to Community Groups,
  • What are Committees why have a committee?
  • Working together as a group
  • Roles within a committee
  • Overview of Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary
  • Who would like to learn more about these roles?

The group decided they would like to learn more about forming a community group and a committee. It was decided by the group that they would take part in further workshops run by Community Connections in the future.
