THE PEOPLES VOICE.
Many residents around the Magdalen Estate, Council and Privately owned, are starting to question the local Council, about how the residents around Popular Avenue, Conaught Rd, Middleton Rd, and other members of the public who live around the Magdalen Way area can have their say about things that concern them. Many of the residents feel they are not included in alot of what takes place around and on the Magdalen Square, and many residents feel they have been side lined from the Magdalen as they do not get an invite to any of the activities, meetings, etc.
Just because some people own their own houses it does not mean they have a lot of money. Every one should have the right to have their say as many residents are not invited to the meetings which take place.
Residents who live in Council Housing, privately owned should all have a right to have their voice heard.
So let's hope Popular Avenue, Conaught Close, etc. you all get some one round your door with an invite in time for the next meeting or get together. Good- luck and hopefully you will all get your invites

We invited MESH (Magdalen, Elmhurst and Shrublands) to respond to the comments above. Julie Woods, Neighbourhood Manager for the MESH area very helpfully got back to us, this is her response
Unfortunately I cannot go and personally invite a [whole] road, as much as I would love to it is just not practicable, although if you let me have the person’s contact detail I will speak to them direct, or pass on my contact details to them.
We welcome any resident, irrespective of tenure, we have home owners and tenants from 3 different social landlords on our board. We are always looking for more people to become involved, although we do not door knock, we cover over 12,000 people and it is impossible to speak to everyone. The office is open to just pop in, or ring us and we will arrange a time to meet up. Times are advertised in local papers and as are the Community Steering Groups that are also attended by the Safer Neighbourhood Team.
