retroskate New Year Party

04 Jan 2011

The Team members at retroskate done themselves proud at New Year By organising a New Year Party that over 150+ children attended. There was mixed feelings within the team about holding the party because it wasn’t known if it would be a success, but the night proved that it was. There were games for skaters and non-skaters on and off throughout the night has they skated there way to midnight. The adults who thought they were getting away without having to do anything were mistaken as Retroskate team members got them on the rink doing the limbo and other party games.

On a night where so many adults were out having fun and seeing the New Year in, in one of the many clubs that were open down the seafront and full to capacity it was nice to know that the youths had somewhere to go as well for there own fun.

The Midnight hour was closing in and everyone at Retroskate got in the middle of the rink to sing Auld Lang Syne, (a Scots poem written by Robert Burns in 1788, which is often sung to celebrate the start of the New Year at the stroke of midnight and was being echoed all around the uk) The party games continued afterwards with it closing around 12.30 - 01.00.

I would like to thank all the team members at retroskate for holding this party that so many people enjoyed, we look forward to the next one.
