Safer Neighbourhood Action Panel

08 Nov 2010

I am Lisa Davies a Volunteer Reporter for 96ktalkack, reporting on the Safer Neighbourhood Action Panel at Saint James Hall on Admiralty Road at 11 45am on Tuesday 26th October.

Louise Hamilton informed me that they meet up every 3 months to see how the Community can make their issues heard. Sadly not many of the Community turned up which was a bit surprising. Those that were there mentiond the following

Wheelie Bins being set on fire

Young Children Jumping on Roofs and Running up the Walls, what the youths call Freerunning or Parkour

Some of the community feel intimidated by young and older children

Dog Fouling

people riding their bikes with no lights

Fast Cars driving around the area and on Marine Parade racing each other

Motor Bikes not having any respect for the people in the Community around them

It was suggested that children could be took round the Hospital to see what can Really happen to them if they keep doing these Dangerous things. They need to KnoW what can happen with just 1 wrong Fall or if they com off their motor bike.

Sergeant Dan Smith was there to let the Community no that they are aware of some of the things going on and informed us about the law on some of them.

If your dog is Fouling in a Public place and the owner does not clean it up there is a £80 Fine or usually the Police will take you to Court then it’s a £120 Fine.

Children caught Smoking or with alcohal which has became a big problem of all ages.

Giving  Warning Tickets Out to any young person who gets in Trouble more than once.

Sergeant Dan Smith said they are stopping people with no tax, insurance or who are speeding
