Police in Great Yarmouth are hoping to be on the ball this week as they aim to build community relationships on the pitch.
Officers from Norfolk Police will take on a community football team with representation from the Portuguese community among others at the Wellesley Road Recreation Ground.
The match kicks off at 11am on Thursday, October 28, and local people are being encouraged to support the event.
The match has been organised to help build links with the different communities within the borough.
PC Andy Symonds, from the North Yarmouth Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) and referee for the game, said: “We’re looking to taking part in the community match. Sport is an excellent way to engage with people and build links with communities who may come from very different backgrounds through a shared passion for football.
“We hope this event will be well supported by local people and if successful could even become an annual event.”
